The 2014-15 kits for Manchester United are supplied Nike and sponsored by Chevrolet who signed a seven year sponsorship deal back in July 2012. From the 2015-16 season onwards Manchester United will be wearing kits supplied by adidas who signed a £750m ten year deal with the club in July 2014. Manchester wear royal red home shirts with black and white detailing on the collar and sleeve cuffs which is completed with white shorts and black socks. The club's away shirt is white and black while the third European shirt is blue and red.

Manchester United play their home games in shirts which are red with white trim, this is where their nickname the red devils originates from. They used to wear green & yellow halves when they were Newton Heath, the green & yellow strip had a revival in the 90s as the away strip in memory of clubs origins.

Manchester United were formed as Newton Heath LYR F.C. In 1878, as the works team of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway depot at Newton Heath. They became Manchester United in 1902 and play their home games at Old Trafford, Sir Matt Busby Way, Manchester. The Red Devils goalkeeper shirt is green whilst the away shirt is white with red and black detailing and the third shirt is a blue coloured hooped design. From the 2013-14 season their shirts will be officially sponsored by Chevrolet.

United have had many famous players wear their shirts a few of these are; in the fifties & sixties; George Best, Bobby Charlton, Denis Law and Nobby Stiles, in the seventies & eighties Norman Whiteside, Lou Macari, Alex Stepney, Gordon Strachan, Ray Wilkins and Steve Coppell and the nineties with Mark Hughes, Bryan Robson, Paul Ince, David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Eric Cantona, Peter Schmeichel and Roy Keane and the 00s Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie.
