Signing a record-breaking kit deal with Nike, Chelsea have officially launched their brand new home and away kits supplied by the Big Swoosh for the 2017-18 season.
For Chelsea’s debut season with Nike, the big brand have offered fans a simple yet classic design which should be liked by everyone. What appears apparent straight away is the lack of white trim mainly contributed by the lack of adidas three-stripes which were used on their kits for over a decade.
Yokohama Tyres have their sponsor logo stamped in the middle of the shirt for another season while the kit uses the highly popular Aeroswift template debuted on Nike kits last season. Similar to Nike’s approach to Spurs’ new kits the home shirt uses the same blue colour of old from shoulder to the hems of the shirts.
If I was a Chelsea fan I would be getting both the home and away kits because they classic, simple and overall likeable for everyone. The new away kit is stunning because of its simplicity in design. Plain white (Hint of Silver) kits are supremely underrated and will look great on away days by the likes of Eden Hazard, Diego Costa and N’golo Kante this upcoming season.
Additional blue trim applications are used on the shirt, shorts and socks while are all coloured light silver.
